Foundation - Part One

Every good home needs to begin with a good foundation, so Evan and I are taking great care in constructing the base of the camper. Today had a little design, a little shopping, a little research and a lot of construction.
Evan had the idea to make all the curves in the trailer catenary curves. Here he's trying it out on cardboard.

Yep, liked what it did on the cardboard, now to the real thing.

Evan goes back to the drawing board, er computer.
I did some research on the type of hitch that I should get. Also research on ventilation fans. I really want to build my own solar ventilation fan but I might not have time for such things.

Luckily my sawing lines are smoother than my pencil lines.

Yay! The camper has flooring!
Bring it on!

Now to add the ribs.

We worked through a beautiful sunset (after Kelly and Dan made us a lovely dinner).

Cutting the insulation is like cutting drywall, and breaking it apart makes me feel like a ninja. Hiya!

Get in there insulation!

 A good day's work.

  2. Hmmm... I saw the Catan reference, but I'm afraid the Asimov passed me by.
