Building a bed

We start to go vertical! I was right, the lessons we learned helped the next day go much faster, plus hours of Evan behind the computer turn into very detailed plans with precise measurements to help the building happen quickly.
This is a bed support/under bed storage divider. And cool clamps while the wood glue dries.

Evan likes using his Japanese saw.

Lots of fun sawdust art. Less fun when it gets right up in your eyes.

Pretty angles.
A note about ear plugs. Since we are doing so much sawing, I just keep my ear plugs in most of the day, even when it seems unimportant like when I'm cutting insulation. After wearing them so much, when I do take them out, things sound so obnoxiously loud! Like the squeak of the knife blade on the insulation for instance. But also neighborhood work noises. I admit it is incredible how quickly the grass is growing around here right now, but the constant sound of lawn mowing! I might just keep ear plugs in until I get this trailer into the back country of Montana.

Insulation! I do a very thorough job with the insulation, I have experienced those early summer Montana  nights and I don't want a little leak letting that cold air in!

Putting all those clamps to use.

A bed! Or at least most of it. But also part of the wall, so that's good!

Evan is showing how comfortable my trailer is! Except that back wall piece is the  highest point, and with the rest of the depth of the wall added in it will be almost two inches shorter. So very comfortable back seat for all of us short people!

  1. It's starting to look like a little house. I bet it's exciting to start getting some dimension to it!
